Add/Remove Programs: April Fool's prank

Add/Remove by RJL Software is an excellent program with which to scare your friends and colleagues on April Fool's day. The best way to use this program is to substitute its icon for the most-used shortcut on the intended victim's Desktop. When clicked upon it will bring up an almost perfect duplicate of the Add/Remove programs dialogue box which is available from the Control Panel. Unfortunately for the victim it will leave the user no choice but to select the OK button. Once clicked...the user's ACTUAL application list starts to scroll through and all programs appear to be subsequently uninstalled. During this process the user is unable to press any buttons which will cancel this process. Hopefully the user will be completely traumatized by this point as it is only after apparently deleting everything on the computer that another dialogue box appears explaining that they have been the victim of a VERY MEAN practical joke. The application can then be exited in the normal manner.
I must admit that when I tested this prank out myself I was nervously looking at the hard-drive indicator light myself lol. This is an extremely evil trick and at no consequence should any opportunity to use it be wasted. I can't wait for April 1st myself hehe...
The .zip is available here for download and is only 114.08 KB. This program will work with Windows 95, 98, or NT;)

Spectroscope (by Headoffice)

I have tried many different HTML colour-picking tools in the past but I have been unable to find any as good as Spectroscope by Headoffice.
This freeware program is designed to show you how an HTML page will look with different combinations of text and background colours. These colours can be entered as RGB or Hexadecimal numbers or simply selected from a visual palette. You then copy the generated HTML code to the clipboard and paste it into your HTML editor.
This program's most useful function is that, even if your computer is operating in true-colour mode, it will accurately show your choice of colour in websafe 256 colour-mode. Spectroscope works by displaying your selected colours in a non-dithered websafe palette...showing you exactly what someone browsing your site in only 256 colours will see. This essential feature is what makes this program my top choice out of the freeware colour-picking utilities that are available.

Spectroscope is available as a tiny 202kb .exe and is on this site for quick download!

Font Glancer

If you have more fonts than you know what to do with and want to know what they look like quickly and easily then Font Glancer is the tool for you. The program is a simple font browser which enables you to preview all the fonts that you have installed in one easy to view window. You are able to modify the text that it displays with to anything you like (my copy has the old 'Quick fox/Lazy dog' sentence). Font Glancer also has the capability to test each font by typing text, display each fonts character map and even print your font list for quick reference.

The .zip is available here for download now!
